School fees

The school fees module in Smart Software handles parent accounts - invoices, receipts, adjustments and statements. It is not an accounting system, but is instead designed to complement any standard accounting software.

School finances can be elegantly divided into two parts - the administration of school fees and parent accounts; and the administration of ledger accounts and financial statements. Smart Software addresses the first part, while the second part can be conveniently handled by any accounting software package.

By using Smart Software to handle finances, you'll avoid the school-specific limitations inherent in any general accounting system. Flat-rate invoicing can be done, as well as variable invoicing according to each student's grade. Family discounts are also available. Receipts can be entered and printed, and adjustments can be made as required. The system can print statements, as well as an age analyses of outstanding fees.

Using Smart Software in conjunction with another accounting system does not require duplication of work. You only need to post the monthly totals reported by the school fees module to your accounting system's general ledger accounts.
