SMS

The SMS feature of Smart Software is a powerful and convenient communication tool. It enables you to send short messages to the cell phones of students and parents, and any other recipients you may have.

SMS has proved to be a very effective communication medium in schools. Circulars and letters tend to be ignored or get lost (especially if they're negative), not too mention that they take long to reach the intended person, if at all. SMS messages are direct and nearly instant, and usually have a very high response rate. It's cost effective too.

Numerous SMS services exist, but none have the ease of use and convenience that Smart Software provides. By integrating the SMS module into the rest of the system, all your existing students and parents are automatically available. Additional recipients can be added as required.

You can set up recipient groups, such as "governing body" or "rugby team". These groups allow you to quickly send a message to a number of recipients. Templates make it quick to send frequent messages without a lot of typing.

Unlike circulars and letters, SMS is an active communication medium. Recipients can reply to messages, and these replies are then received in the program. You can, of course, reply back, and so on. You can always see the original message to which a recipient replied, avoiding confusion when someone replies with a generic "Yes" or similar response.

The system includes features to sent notifications to parents of absenteeism and conduct entries. These features are very popular among parents.
